Kuleta Haki – Provide Justice is a project that was implemented by the sister organization of compagnie Dakar in DRC, Arts en Actions, with support of Dakar: An anti-corruption awareness campaign for justice officials in Lubumbashi, supported by RCN. A team of local artists was trained and developed a series of participatory theater activities as part of the fight against corruption within the Police and Justice institutions in Lubumbashi, Congo. In this innovative project, participatory theater approaches were used to co-develop corruption resistance strategies for the police and jurisdiction staff that participated in the project. This involved research and role play to develop different strategies for resisting corruption in a restricted and 'secure' environment.

The Kuleta Haki project brought together, within a network, judicial actors, police officers, journalists, university professors and members of civil society, - actors who subscribed to change current practices and who believed that criminal justice without corruption is possible. Networking aims to strengthen the support that the actors give each other: I am not alone and I can count on people who have the same values as me. From an individual dynamic, a collective dynamic characterized by trust and confidentiality was built over time with appropriate actions. The project also aimed for actors to influence their colleagues/hierarchy to change their practices with regard to corruption and to raise awareness among litigants about their rights. This was a pilot project to develop strategies to resist corruption during police custody and preventive detention.
